Tripod: Is a three-legged stand that supports a camera, telescope or other object that needs to be kept steady.



Teleprompter: Off-camera device that displays a magnified script so that it is visible to the performers or speakers on a television program.



Storyboard: A graphic plan for the frame-by-frame action in a film or on video. Usually done sequentially, a complete storyboard represents a print rendition of the final film or video product.


Boom microphone: Is a directional microphone mounted or attached to a pole or arm. Primarily used in film and television, this type of microphone frees the hands of actors or reporters while allowing them to enjoy the amplified audio of a traditional microphone. Boom mics can also be used to amplify a group conversation, as they can be positioned so that everyone's voice can be heard.



Newspaper: Is a written publication containing news, information and advertising, usually printed on low-cost paper called newsprint. General-interest newspapers often feature articles on political events, crime, business, art/entertainment, society and sports. Most traditional papers also feature an editorial page containing columns which express the personal opinions of writers.




Chroma Key: Is a function that renders a specific color in a layer transparent. In television and film, it's the technique of using a monochromatic background for the purpose of replacing it with a different image or scene in post-production.


Dolly: Is a specialised piece of filmmaking and television production equipment designed to create smooth camera movements (cinematic techniques). The camera is mounted to the dolly and the camera operator and focus puller or camera assistant usually ride on the dolly to operate the camera.



Digital voice recorder: Is a small hand-held device that is used to record voice memos to a memory chip, and play the memos back. It can also be used to record lectures, conferences or conversations.




Clapperboard:
Is a device used in filmmaking and video production to assist in the synchronizing of picture and sound, and to designate and mark particular scenes and takes recorded during a production.





Filter: Is a camera accessory consisting of an optical filter that can be inserted in the optical path. The filter can be a square or oblong shape mounted in a holder accessory, or, more commonly, a glass or plastic disk with a metal or plastic ring frame, which can be screwed in front of or clipped onto the lens.
